We recommend separating the pot and stand every time if you wish to move the planter. Instead of planting directly in the ceramic pot, keeping the plant in a regular pot first will allow you to change plants as per your decor easily. We also send an allen key to tighten up the standing joint in case it loosens over years with usage.

Shape is bit oval, had a hard time putting in my 9 inch pot, anything 8 and below is suitable
